User System Requirements

1. Overview

This page outlines the minimum and recommended system requirements for a user to access or use the jSign system.

2. Supported Devices

2.1 Desktop / Laptop

Minimum Requirements:

• Processor: Dual-core 2.0 GHz or higher
• RAM: 4 GB
• Screen Resolution: 1366 x 768

Recommended:

• Processor: Intel i5 or equivalent
• RAM: 8 GB or higher
• Screen Resolution: 1920 x 1080

Note:
Envelope creation (uploading documents, placing placeholders, and managing multiple documents) is recommended to be performed on desktop or laptop devices for optimal visibility and responsiveness.

2.2 Mobile Devices

Supported Platforms:

• Android (version 10 or higher)
• iOS (version 14 or higher)

Usage Guidance:

• Mobile devices are optimized for document review and signing workflows
• Complex operations such as envelope creation and bulk sending are not recommended on smaller screens

3. Supported Browsers

Desktop Browsers:

• Google Chrome (latest 2 versions)
• Mozilla Firefox (latest 2 versions)
• Microsoft Edge (latest 2 version)
• Safari (latest 2 versions)

Mobile Browsers:

• Chrome Mobile (latest 2 versions)
• Safari Mobile (latest 2 versions)

Unsupported:

• Internet Explorer

4. Internet Connectivity

Minimum:

• 2–5 Mbps stable internet connection
• Latency ≤ 200 ms

Recommended:

• 10 Mbps or higher
• Latency ≤ 100 ms

For Bulk Signing / Large Documents:

• 20 Mbps or higher recommended

Notes:

• Stable connectivity is critical during document upload and submission
• Lower latency improves responsiveness when placing fields and navigating documents

5. Software Requirements

• JavaScript must be enabled
• Cookies must be enabled
• HTTPS access required (secure connection)

Optional:

• PDF viewer for downloaded documents
• Email client for notifications and verification

6. Key Usage Considerations

6.1 Envelope Creation

• Requires stable internet and larger screen for drag-and-drop placeholder placement
• Performance depends on document size, number of fields and internet connection

6.2 Document Signing

• Fully responsive experience across desktop and mobile
• Optimized for quick review and signing

6.3 Bulk Signing

• Recommended to use high-speed internet (10–20 Mbps)
• Performance may vary depending on the number of recipients and the size or number of documents uploaded

6.4 Template Management

• Templates can be created and reused for faster document preparation
• Best managed on desktop for better visibility

7. Security Requirements

• Use updated browsers with latest security patches
• Strong passwords recommended
• Avoid public/shared devices for sensitive transactions
• Ensure secure (HTTPS) access at all times

8. Network & Firewall Requirements

Ensure the following are allowed:

• HTTPS (Port 443)
• Access to application domain (e.g., app.jsign.com)

9. User Account Requirements

Valid email address for registration and communication Access to email for verification and signing notifications

10. Limitations

• Performance may degrade on low-end devices or slow networks
Large documents may take longer to upload and render Mobile devices may have limited usability for complex envelope/template creation

11. Support & Recommended Practices

• Use recommended browsers and updated systems
• Prefer desktop for document preparation tasks
• Ensure stable internet before uploading or submitting documents
• Avoid refreshing or closing the browser during uploads
